Owned and operated by Fernando and Julio Postigo, these brothers have taken their love of Mexican food and culture, and infused it into Sol Mexican Grill. Fernando and Julio’s initiation into the culinary world was born when they worked in construction and used to patron the food trucks that serviced the various sites.
Fernando and Julio sampled numerous street trucks and restaurants but always felt as though something was lacking. Inspired to bring authentic Mexican food to DC, the two brothers caught the bug and purchased their first food truck, pioneering the emergence of food trucks in DC.
Almost two years later Fernando and Julio have grown their successful food trucks into Sol Mexican Grill. The restaurant is divided into two parts. The first floor serves many of the same food items provided by the trucks within a casual and friendly sit-down atmosphere. The second floor operates as a full service dine-in restaurant with a bar, featuring numerous types of tequila.
